April 6 – It’s National Poetry Month

  • Printable leaves template, available here and on the blog post
  • Printable flower template, available here and on the blog post
  • Wooden Dowel, ½-inch diameter
  • Flower pot or box
  • Oasis, clay, or dirt
  • Green ribbon
  • Green craft paint
  • Green paper if leaves will be preprinted
  • Colored paper if flowers will be preprinted
  • Hole punch
  • Glue
  • Markers for writing words
  • Crayons or colored pencils if children are to color leaves and flowers

 

April 7 – International Beaver Day

  • Printable Ears and Nose Template
  • 2-inch wooden spool, available at craft stores
  • Brown craft paint for body
  • Brown or dark gray paint for tail
  • Brown “chunky” yarn, 8 yards
  • Brown felt, small piece for ears
  • Black felt, small piece for nose
  • White foam board, small piece for teeth
  • 6 x ¾ inch craft stick
